So to solve the problem you'll have to set these two values in 'stdafx.h' (or 'targetver.h' if it exists) before the first include, i.e. > #define _WIN32_WINNT 0x0500 > #define _WIN32_IE You can get the currently associated font using the GetTextMetrics[^] function.

Note that most required libraries are added to your project when it is created by the New Project wizard in Visual Studio.
